Australia Day & LFW Summer Newsletter
We had a lovely Australia Day camping trip and picnic with family at Wordwood. Highlights included fire-roasted Bunya nuts, damper and ANZAC biscuits.
In two walks around we counted 13 blooming indigenous wildflowers, and that didn’t include any of the many grasses. I think our understory is one of my (Margie’s) favourite things about Wordwood.
We have added a new bird to our fauna list – the Olive-backed Oriole. Also a couple of creepy-crawlies.
We also put up our first bat nest boxes. We will post any future news on occupation.
Greetings to anyone having a look at our bog after seeing it in the Land for Wildlife Queensland Murray-Darling Basin Summer 2013/14 Newsletter. If anyone out there has their own blog, contact us so we can add a link.
Hope 2014 is going well.
